Wind Power in Andhra Pradesh

As per WindPowerIndia website (As on 31st March 2006), Stage-wise unit Generation Data (kW h) from wind power projects of Tamil Nadu are 15381.13 Million units, where as from Andhra Pradesh it is just 1739.51Million units. Considering the current and future pressing electricity needs of Andhra Pradesh , it is important for Andhra Pradesh to aggressively invest on wind electricity. A wind energy system transforms the kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical or electrical energy that can be harnessed for practical use. Today, wind energy is mainly used to generate electricity and/or pumping water in rural areas. However, wind energy can also be used for other purposes like grinding grain, sawing, pulling a sailboat. Wind is simple air in motion. Wind travels from one place to another due to uneven heating of the earth's surface by the sun.
